In light of the coronavirus pandemic, many people want to ensure that they have their estate planning in order.
This includes but is not limited to their Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Advanced Health Directives, Superannuation Nominations and the Succession of Businesses and Family Trusts.
People are understandably concerned whether this can be done without having any face to face contact.
At TJS Law we would like to reassure you that we can continue to provide you with an efficient estate planning service when you need it most.
In compliance with government directives, we can offer you different options:
1. We can take instructions from you via telephone, video calls or email.
2. Draft documents can be emailed or posted to you for comments and approval.
3. Once the documents are agreed, there are different options for signing your Wills:
a) ‘Drive-by-signings’ outside our office where clients can sign in the car and we can attend to witness the documents at an appropriate social distance;
b) ‘Through the Door/Window signings’ where we can attend your home in the Noosa and surrounding areas and attend to witnessing of the documents through your door/window;
c) We post the documents to you and two independent neighbours attend to witness the documents through their or your door/window. However, please note that Enduring Powers of Attorney must be witnessed by a lawyer, justice of the peace, commissioner for declarations or notary public.
We will not charge additional fees for attending your house if you live within 20kms of our Noosaville office.
